The society publish a newsletter four times a year and the content is a mix of information about upcoming events or activities, reports and contributed articles concerning archaeology or local history. Newsletter Archive
The BAHS newsletter archive dates from 1971 and there are nearly 250 editions in the archive.
In the early days, the newsletters were simple sheets printed using Getsetner technology aimed primarily at keeping members informed. As time went on, members started to contribute reports and articles and with the advent of desk top publishing photographs and diagrams started to appear. 50 years on the newsletter is a polished full colour production sent out to members as a pdf file.
For the BAHS 50th Anniversary we created an index for the newsletter archive and we scanned the editions for which we only had a paper archive. The result is that we now have a searchable archive which can be accessed using the following link:
